
Ayo has a background in epidemiology and biostatistics. His doctoral research examined successful (healthy) ageing among older adults.
He has a strong interest in addressing population health determinants and turning complex data into useful insights to inform practice.
Ayo is currently using Integrated Data Infrastructure (IDI) datasets to work on two research programmes, Research to maximise the health and well-being gains from housing, and Housing children and youth: Ensuring Aotearoa’s future get the best start possible with He Kāinga Oranga - Housing and Health Research Programme. He is also working on the New Zealand Centre for Sustainable Cities research programme Public housing and urban regeneration: maximising wellbeing.
